Treadmill Settings Update
At Life Fitness, we strive to provide a seamless and high-quality experience for all our users. Recently, some treadmill console settings may have changed unexpectedly, leading to questions from facility managers and individual users. This document aims to clarify what happened, which products were affected, and how this issue has been addressed. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions regarding the recent remote settings update and its impact on your treadmill console.
Why did my Treadmill Console settings change?
Due to a mandatory settings change in the backend of the below indicated treadmill consoles, a remote backend settings update push was done on March 24th, 2025 through Facility Connect to all affected connected units.
Unfortunately with this remote push, in some cases, other more customer-facing settings, listed below, were affected as well.
We regret this happened and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We’ve already taken corrective measures making sure this won’t happen again.
Are all of my Life Fitness products affected?
Only certain Treadmill consoles are possibly affected, which are:
- Symbio Treadmill Consoles
- Discover SE4 Treadmill Consoles
- Discover SE3HD Treadmill Consoles (Including Orange Theory version)
- Discover SE3 Treadmill Consoles
- Discover ST Treadmill Consoles
- SL Treadmil Consoles
- Cybex R Series 70T Consoles
What settings are affected?
Some of the following settings could’ve been changed (based on field feedback):
- Units (Metric/Imperial)
- Max speed
- Language
- Stride Sensor
Will this happen again?
The remote push was only done once. All online units would’ve received the update instantly or with some delay, the moment nobody would be using the treadmill and be idle. Then the unit would quickly power cycle to accept the changes.
Any treadmill which would’ve been connected at a later stage could also have received this update in the same manner.
Setting changes and updates won’t be executed in units which are in use. The units must be idle to accept the changes.
Since the settings update my Treadmill walking belt now slowly stops when nobody is walking on it. Can this be changed?
The user detect feature in your treadmill is a standard feature which always needs to be turned on. It detects if the user is running on the walking belt and will slowly stop the belt the moment the user isn’t detected on the belt.
